Parti Quebecois will vote for a new leader to replace Peladeau on Oct. 7

MONTREAL – The Parti Quebecois will announce who will succeed Pierre Karl Peladeau as the party’s permanent leader on Oct. 7.

Party President Raymond Archambault said Sunday that voting will take place by phone and Internet in the three days leading up to the announcement.

There are four declared candidates so far. Alexandre Cloutier, Jean-Francois Lisee, Martine Ouellet and Veronique Hivon have all said they want the job.

Other potential candidates have until July 4 to come forward.
