Sea trials to start for Yarmouth ferry

The new CAT ferry is expected to undergo extensive sea trials this weekend as it gets set for the beginning of the sailing season between Yarmouth and Maine.

The ship operated by Bay Ferries is currently in the water South Carolina after being taken out of dry dock this week and is expected to head north to Yarmouth once those sea trials are complete.

There’s also some regulatory inspections to be done.

The provincial government is spending more than $32-million over the next two years on the service, which is scheduled to run from June 15th until September 30th.
