Another increase in gas prices expected

Another jump at the pump on the horizon for gasoline prices in Nova Scotia.

When prices are adjusted at midnight tonight they are expected to shoot up by about 3 cents per litre.

George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices told NEWS 95.7 all of the indicators are lined up for an increase.

“The numbers are up on the New York Mercantile Exchange, the U.S. dollar has been gaining some ground against the Canadian dollar, we’ve got gasoline inventories down, we’ve got the U.S. Memorial Day weekend coming, so demand is still there,” he explained.

Across the border in New Brunswick prices climbed by 3.4 cents overnight, moving the maximum price up to 109.7.
