Gas prices expected to trend down in Nova Scotia

HALIFAX – Gas prices in Nova Scotia will inch down toward the dollar per litre plateau this week.

News 95.7 predicts when the UARB adjusts its prices at midnight on Friday, they’ll fall by about two cents per litre.

George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices tells News 95.7 that it appears speculators have made a move away from gasoline this week, which has dropped wholesale prices.

“Prices of oil remain volatile of course and we still had this build in gasoline and oil invetory,” Murphy said. “If I was playing with my own money, I’d be pulling out of the market.”

In New Brunswick overnight, prices fell by 2.3 cents moving the maximum price in that province down to $1.02/L.
