Stranger offers ride to 12 year old

DARTMOUTH – Halifax Regional Police are looking for more information after a young girl was approached by a man in a car in Dartmouth.
Police say the 12 year old girl told her mother she was approached on her way home from school around 12:45 p.m. Thursday by a man in a vehicle on Lakefront Road near Portland Street.
The driver told the girl he liked what she was wearing and offered her a drive.
The girl answered “no,” and before the man tried again to ask, she ran home.
Police says the suspect is described as a white man, 40-to-50 years of age, wearing small reading style glasses, and driving a silver 4-door vehicle.
