Five arrested after vehicle stop and home search

Five people face weapons charges after a vehicle stop and home search in Dartmouth yesterday afternoon.

Halifax Regional Police say at 4:55 p.m. officers pulled of a vehicle on John Savage Drive, arresting two men, aged 22 and 23.

Minutes later, police executed a search warrant at a Windmill Road home, seizing marijuana, drug paraphernalia, bear spray and a loaded prohibited firearm.

They arrested three women, aged 18, 21 and 22.

The 21-year-old woman was released and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date on weapons charges.

The remaining four will be in court today on various weapons-related charges.

Police say they have not yet laid drug charges, but they’re still investigating.
