HALIFAX – A big jump in the price of gasoline in on the horizon for drivers in Nova Scotia.
News 95.7 is predicting when prices are adjusted at midnight they will increase by about a nickel per litre.
George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices expects prices to start falling off after this week.
“We have refineries that are starting to come online, demand is not exactly as strong as what speculators think it is,” Murphy said.
“This may be the only price increase we see before May.”
Across the border in New Brunswick, prices jumped up by an even 5 cents a litre overnight, moving the maximum price to 99.9 c/L.
