Regional police look for suspects in Dartmouth robbery where taser was used

HALIFAX – Regional Police are looking for two suspects after a robbery at a home in Dartmouth Thursday night where a taser was used several on one of the victims.

Police received a robbery call in the 200 block of Windmill Road in Dartmouth around 7:50 p.m. Thursday, where they learned three men were inside the residence when two others entered through an unlocked door and started looking for things to steal.

Staff Sgt. Bill Morris with Halifax Regional Police said a confrontation ensued with one of the three men inside, leading to a 22-year-old man being tasered by one of the suspects inside.

“He deployed the weapon several times on one of the victims and one of the other people in the apartment fled very quickly and contacted police,” Morris said.

The man sustained minor injuries but refused treatment by EHS on the scene.

The two suspects fled the area and were not found by police with the aid of a K9 Unit.

The suspects are described as two white males, around 20-years-old; one was tall, one was short and they were both wearing dark clothing.

“That’s all we have right now,” Morris said.

Police don’t believe the incident was random and are asking anyone with information about the robbery to contact investigators or Crime Stoppers.
