Gas prices set to drop in Nova Scotia

HALIFAX – Nova Scotia drivers will likely save some money if they wait to fill up their gas tanks until Friday.

News 95.7 predicts when regulated prices are adjusted at midnight on Thursday they will fall by about 4.5 cents per litre.

George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices tells News 95.7, a major factor in the price drop this week can be attributed to a glut of oil that’s currently available for sale.

“With the crude prices the way they are and how much is in stock right in the U.S, there’s about 502 million barrels there,” Murphy said. “Why are you going to buy it?”

In New Brunswick prices fell overnight by 4.7 cents per litre, moving the maximum price in that province down to 88.4 c/L.
