HALIFAX – Nova Scotia RCMP are appealing to the public for help identifying a suspect related to a bomb threat made against an aircraft this past fall.
Mounties were called to Halifax Stanfield International Airport on Nov. 22 after receiving a call about a bomb threat against WestJet Flight 229 bound for Calgary.
The plane had not left the terminal and the 69 passengers and six crew members were evacuated but no device was found despite a search of the aircraft, luggage and cargo.
Investigators said the threat came in from a pay phone from a gas station in Truro and the caller is described as a man with a raspy voice who was driving a light-coloured 2008-2012 SUV.
