Police looking for car, driver involved in alleged hit-and-run

HALIFAX – Regional Police are trying to identify the driver of a car involved in an alleged hit-and-run accident with a pedestrian Thursday morning.

Police say a car travelling northbound on George Dauphinee Avenue struck a 14-year-old girl who was trying to cross as she walked along Bayers Road Thursday around 8:30 a.m.

The car didn’t stop at the scene, while the the girl continued on her way to school but was later taken to hospital.

The car is described as a light blue four-door sedan. No description was given for the driver, but the vehicle’s passenger is described as a black man in his early 20’s.
