Not as many snow days expected this winter

If the thought of reliving last year’s winter fills you with anxiety, there’s good news.

NEWS 95.7 meteorologist Richard Zurawski said chances are, there will be a lot less shovelling this year, but you may find yourself slip, sliding away.

“With a much milder-than-normal forecast coming up, it means we’re probably going to see a lot of freezing rain and a switch from rain to snow,” he explained. “With higher-than-normal precipitation amount, it could be kind of a messy winter.”

Zurawski said most of Canada could experience the above average temperatures.

“That’s from most of eastern Canada, and right into the Prairies that things are going to be warmer-than-normal, looks like the Maritimes will have the warmest temperatures though.”

He added he doesn’t see any significant snow storms on the horizon which could mean a green Christmas.
