Two more pedestrians struck by cars in crosswalks

HALIFAX – Accidents involving cars and pedestrians over the weekend sent two people to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police said the first happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday in Clayton Park, when a man was hit inside a marked crosswalk as he crossed Dunbrack Street at Farnham Gate.

He was taken to hospital with a shoulder injury, while the driver was given a ticket for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

On Sunday afternoon, a 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital after she was struck in a crosswalk at Ochterloney Drive at Alderney Driver around 2:30 p.m.

The man driving the car was also ticketed for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
