Gas prices up four cents overnight

HALIFAX – Drivers in Nova Scotia are digging deeper into their pockets to fill up the car on Friday.

Regulated prices shot up at midnight by an even four cents a litre, to a new minimum price of 99.4 c/L.

The price for diesel has remained steady with the minimum price set at $1.01/L for a second week in a row.

Last year, at this time we were paying $1.14/L for gasoline, $1.25/L for diesel, oil was trading at $68.45 US per barrel, just over $26 US per barrel more than Thursday’s closing price of $42.26.
