Lunenburg RCMP charge two drivers with stunting

DAYSPRING, N.S. – Lunenburg District RCMP have charged two men with stunting. The incident happened Saturday, just after 10:30 pm, when RCMP found two vehicles racing along Highway 3 near Dayspring.

Police say both vehicles were observed travelling at speeds between 120-and-130 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

RCMP stopped the vehicles and charged a 16-year-old driver from Pine Grove and a 19-year-old from Upper Branch with stunting.

The vehicles were seized by police and both drivers had their licenses suspended for a minimum of one week.

Both men arrested are newly licensed drivers and each faces a fine of $2422.50 and six demerit points if convicted.

Police say stunting can be defined as racing or travelling more than 50 km/h over the posted speed limit.
