Rough start to road trip: Mooseheads fall 5-3 to Bathurst

BATHURST–The Halifax Mooseheads were defeated by the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Wednesday night with a final score of 5-3.

Danny Moynihan scored twice and Max Fortier contributed one goal to the Mooseheads’ offensive effort. Captain Timo Meier recorded three assists.

Halifax outshot Bathurst 42-29.

Jeffrey Truchon-Viel opened up the scoring for the Titan after just 43 seconds in the first period. He went on to score again midway through the second. Jordan Maher, Christophe Boivin and Daniil Miromanov scored the three other Titan goals.

The loss brings the Mooseheads’ record down to 6-10-1-1. The Titan are now 5-11-2-0.

The Mooseheads will travel to Québec to face the Remparts on Friday night at 8 p.m. AT.
