Gas prices slightly up, diesel up nearly five cents

HALIFAX – Drivers in Nova Scotia are paying more for gasoline Friday morning, after the province’s Utility and Review Board adjusted prices at midnight.

Regulated prices jumped 1.1 cents at midnight, moving the minimum price per litre to $100.5.

A much bigger jump in price for those requiring diesel, as fuel prices climbed 4.8 cents per litre, increasing the minimum price to a shade under $1.02/L.

One year ago, we were paying $1.29/L for gasoline, $1.28/L diesel, and oil was trading on the markets at $84.15 US per barrel.

That’s just under $34 US per barrel more than Thursday’s closing price of $50.24.
