No change expected in gas prices

HALIFAX – Don’t expect much change at your neighbourhood gas pumps this week.

News 95.7 is predicting when prices are reset at midnight they will remain stable.

George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices tells News 95.7 despite a drop in available refinery space, inventories are building, meaning that consumers are conserving.

“We’re still in maintenance mode, with the refinery capacity down to 87.5 per cent,” Murphy said. “It was a month ago we were up around 93 or 94 per cent.”

Prices are up slightly across the border in New Brunswick on Thursday morning, after that province’s regulator moved the maximum price per litre up by 6/10ths of a cent to $103.1/L.
