Man charged with fraud after $14,000 goes missing from charity choir

NEW MINAS, N.S. – Police in New Minas say a 53-year-old man is facing charges after $14,000 went missing from the Annapolis Valley Honour Choir.
Allan Joseph MacDonnell of Coldbrook has been charged with fraud over $5,000.
Kings District RCMP say investigators received word on Dec. 5, 2014 of an alleged internal fraud at the choir.
During a nine-month investigation, police determined $14,000 had gone missing in a span of four months.
MacDonnell is scheduled to appear in Kentville provincial court on Dec. 7.
