Three rescued after sailing vessel takes on water off Halifax

HALIFAX – Three people aboard a sailboat were picked up by a coast guard cutter Thursday after their vessel started taking on water about 20 kilometres east of Halifax.

A spokesman for the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre in Halifax says the three were later transferred to an ambulance in Eastern Passage.

He said there was no indication that anyone was seriously injured.
