Some of the most active companies traded Friday on the Toronto Stock Exchange:

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Aerospace, rail equipment. Down 13 cents, or 7.39 per cent, to $1.63 on 16.4 million shares.

Canadian Oil Sands Ltd. (TSX:COS). Oil and gas. Down 16 cents, or 2.10 per cent, to $7.46 on 7.5 million shares.

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. (TSX:FM). Miner. Up 33 cents, or 3.26 per cent, to $10.45 on 5.1 million shares.

Barrick Gold Corp. (TSX:ABX). Miner. Up nine cents, or 0.98 per cent, to $9.25 on 4.7 million shares.

Romarco Minerals Inc. (TSX:R). Miner. Unchanged at 52 cents on 4.1 million shares.

Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Up 17 cents, or 7.62 per cent, to $2.40 on 4.1 million shares.

RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX:REI.UN). Real estate. Up 24 cents, or 2.98 per cent, to $8.29 on 850,981 shares. RioCan Real Estate Investment Trust is launching a strategic review of its U.S. operations, a process that could lead to the real estate giant selling part or all of its portfolio of properties south of the border. “It’s very difficult to grow down there,” chief executive Edward Sonshine said during a conference call Friday with investors.

TransCanada Corp. (TSX:TRP). Oil and gas. Up 46 cents, or 0.91 per cent, to $50.83 on 1.1 million shares. It’s looking like the Energy East pipeline project is going to get more expensive. TransCanada Corp., the company planning to build the controversial cross-Canada oil pipeline, had been estimating it would cost $12 billion.
