Gas prices trend down ahead of long weekend

HALIFAX – The province is getting a rare big drop in the price of gasoline just ahead of the long weekend.

The UARB has lowered the price of regular self serve by 4.2 cents, moving the minimum price down to $1.12.2c/L

The downward trend in diesel prices continues with fuel dropping under a dollar, down two cents to $0.98/L

At this time last year, drivers in Nova Scotia were paying $1.34 for gasoline, $1.31 for diesel and oil was trading at $107.89 US per barrel.

That’s just under $60 more than Thursday’s closing price of $48.03.
