NEW YORK, N.Y. – A witty play about Robin Hood, a cycling-inspired circus, musicals of the classic books “Caps For Sale” and “The Gruffalo” and a look at the brave Tuskegee Airmen are among next season’s offerings as The New Victory Theater celebrates its 20th anniversary.

A total of 16 productions — including five U.S. premieres — are on tap from the city’s first and only full-time performing arts theatre for kids and their families.

A four-person “Robin Hood” comes from Seattle Children’s Theatre and runs Oct. 2-11, Cirque Mechanics’ adrenaline-fueled “Pedal Punk” plays Dec. 4-Jan. 3, “Caps For Sale the Musical” appears Feb. 27-March 6, and “Fly” from the Crossroads Theatre Company and the Pasadena Playhouse zooms in March 11-27.

The New Victory will also present comic daredevil Bello Nock from April 15-May 1, NIE Theatre’s “Museum of Memories,” Unicorn Theatre’s “The Velveteen Rabbit,” Little Angel Theatre’s “Handa’s Surprise,” Carlo Colla & Sons Marionette Company’s “The Pied Piper” with over 120 marionettes and Le Clan des Songes’s wordless, vibrant “Cite.”

The season also includes Cape Town’s Isango Ensemble’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” Scotland’s Catherine Wheels Theatre Company brings back its “White,” Havana’s Lizt Alfonso Dance Cuba brings its “Cuba Vibra!,” Montreal’s Theatre de l’Oeil returns with “The Star Keeper” and “Untapped!” from Australia.
