In search for ‘prince charming,’ Luka Magnotta joins dating site for prisoners

OTTAWA – Convicted killer Luka Rocco Magnotta is looking for a “prince charming” on a matchmaking website for prisoners.

His profile was posted Sunday on Canadian Inmates Connect, a website that tries to hook up lonesome convicts with potential companions on the outside.

A spokesman for Public Safety Minister Steven Blaney calls the website “outrageous and offensive to victims of crime.”

Jeremy Laurin says Blaney has asked that Correctional Service Canada “explore all options to ensure that dangerous violent criminals and sexual predators are not able to further exploit individuals.”

Melissa Fazzina — who created the site about four and half years ago — says Magnotta sent the information to her through a contact along with a 35-dollar fee about 10 days ago.

Fazzina says while many people will think Magnotta doesn’t deserve to be on the website, “everybody is equally able to redeem themselves.”

The profile features two photos of the former stripper and prostitute, who was convicted in December of first-degree murder for the 2012 killing and dismemberment of university student Jun Lin.

Magnotta, who’s serving a life sentence, lists his expected release date as 2037.
