One in hospital, another arrested after Cole Harbour stabbing

A stabbing in Cole Harbour Monday night left one man in hospital, and the other in a jail cell.

Cpl. Devri Warnell said police got to the scene on Linden Court in Cole Harbour at about 6 p.m.

She said there was an altercation, and one of the men stabbed the other, though both were injured.

“Both males, as a result of the altercation, were taken to hospital,” said Warnell. “The victim of the stabbing was released with non-life threatening injuries, and the suspect was treated and later released into police custody, and remains in cells to be seen in court this morning.”

A release from the RCMP says the altercation was the result of an “ongoing domestic related argument,” but Warnell wouldn’t specify.

“I’m not in a position to discuss the relationship, however they are known to each other,” she said.

The suspect is scheduled to face weapons charges in court Tuesday morning.

The Mounties said they continue to investigate the incident.
