Police release man arrested in connection to stabbing

Halifax Regional Police have released a man they arrested yesterday in connection with a stabbing near the Halifax Common.

Spokesperson Pierre Bourdages told News 95.7, police interviewed the 38-year-old man and released him without charges.

Bourdages said they are still actively looking for a suspect in connection with the stabbing yesterday morning on Cornwallis Street, and anyone with information is urged to get into contact with police or Crime Stoppers.

The 28-year-old victim remains in hospital recovering from emergency surgery performed yesterday as a result of injuries sustained in the incident.

Police do not believe the incident was random.
