Rainmen owner to hold news conference today

The owner of the Halifax Rainmen will hold a news conference this afternoon to address the ongoing saga that saw the team forfeit the final game of the NBL championship.

Andre Levingston said he will talk about the incidents that led up to the team’s decision to walk away from Game 7 in Windsor, and the teams future moving forward.

The players told the media Saturday that after an altercation with players from the Windsor Express, they feared for their safety, and because of that decided not to play the final game.

The players also said they have been evicted from their apartments without notice, and have not been paid.

The league has fined the franchise $20-thousand, the team’s coach $10-thousand and most of the players $5-thousand each.
