SiRT charges Halifax police officer with domestic assault

The province’s Serious Incident Response Team (SiRT) says a Halifax Regional Police officer has been charged with assault.
Two charges have been laid against 43-year-old Cst. Jason Richard Murray for two separate alleged domestic assault incidents that happened in fall 2013 and spring 2014.
The complainant in both incidents in a 44-year-old woman.
A release from SiRT says Murray cooperated with the investigation, and he’s been released on a promise to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on May 20.
The SiRT team investigates all serious incidents involving police in Nova Scotia, and that includes allegations of domestic violence.
