AC624: Class action lawsuit commenced over crash landing

Halifax lawyer Ray Wagner says he’s commenced a class-action lawsuit on behalf of passengers harmed by the crash of Air Canada Flight 624.

A release from Wagners Law Firm says it’s teamed up with Camp, Fiorante, Matthews and Mogerman (CFM) — a Vancouver firm that specializes in aircraft crashes and disasters —  “to probe the likely multiple causes of this crash and to assess the individual damages suffered by the class member passengers.”

Wagner had signaled he was planning to launch a class-action after the Air Canada flight crash landed in Halifax in the early morning hours of March 29.

The statement of claim filed by Wagners and CFM today names Air Canada, Airbus S.A.S., Nav Canada, the Halifax International Airport Authority, the Attorney General of Canada, the unnamed pilot of the flight and the first officer.

Another firm — MacGillivray Injury and Insurance Law — filed a claim April 21, seeking $12-million in damages for the passengers of the flight.
