Gas prices drop below 90 cents per litre for first time in six years

If you’re running on empty, now’s the time to fill up your tank.

For the first time since early 2009, gasoline prices here in Nova Scotia have fallen below the 90-cent mark.

Regulated price fell at midnight by 2.7 cents per litre, moving the minimum price down to 88.6 cents.

Diesel prices have also fallen by 2.7 cents a litre, taking that minimum price down to 102.6 cents.

By comparison, one year ago drivers were paying $1.31 for a litre of gasoline, and diesel was selling for 10 cents more.

Oil was trading at $94.20 USD per barrel, almost $50.00 more than yesterday’s closing price of $46.30.
