Witness comes forward in abandoned puppies case

A Halifax rescue group says a witness has come forward in a case of abandoned puppies who were left for dead in Sydney recently

The five puppies continue to recover in Halifax.

Litters n’ Critters spokesperson Shelley Cunningham says they were contacted by a man on Facebook.

The chief provincial inspector with the Nova Scotia SPCA, David Ross, won’t confirm the information.

“It is an open file, we are working on it. We are working collaboratively with the police, and we are hoping for a successful conclusion,” said Ross.

Litter’s n’ Critters has raised more than $1,000 as a reward for any witness who comes forward, but the person who has didn’t want any of the money for himself, asking instead for it to be donated to the rescue group as well as another charity close to his heart
