Impaired driving charge laid after fatal Enfield crash

A 22-year-old man faces a charge of impaired driving causing death after a weekend crash in Enfield.

Police were called to the scene on Renfrew Road around 10:30 p.m on Friday, where they found a vehicle had left the road and rolled onto its side in the ditch.

A 21-year-old passenger in the vehicle died at the scene. The driver, who police say also failed to provide a breathalyzer sample, was uninjured.

The driver has since been released from custody and will appear court on Feb. 2.
