Tractor-trailer crashes into ditch off Highway 103

RCMP are on the scene of a single-vehicle accident involving an 18-wheeler that went off the road early this morning on Highway 103.

Sgt. Al LeBlanc said that road is closed for now between exits nine and ten, but adds there were no serious injuries.

“The tractor-trailer had hit the Gold River Bridge. [There were] very minor injuries. I believe the driver of the truck may have been transported [to hospital] just as a precaution.”

He said icy road conditions may have been the cause of the accident.

“Be cautious, roads may be slippery,” he warned motorists. “I believe this may have been a contributing factor to the collision this morning.”

Leblanc said the scene of the accident is currently being cleared, and that part of Highway 103 will be open to traffic again soon.

The accident, he said, happened just after 4 a.m.
