Gas prices: two-cent drop on the way, News 95.7 predicts

You will save a few pennies if you wait until Friday to fill up the car.

News 95.7 is predicting the regulated price for regular self-serve will fall by about two cents per litre at midnight.

George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices says any gains made when the price of oil falls are getting wiped out by a lower Canadian dollar.

“We’ve lost – in the last two years – 14 cents against the US dollar, and it really does add up,” said Murphy.

“Particularly over the last couple of weeks with the fall of the price of the oil. It’s really been taking a pounding out there on the markets.”

In New Brunswick the maximum price per litre fell overnight by an even two cents per litre to 117.8.
