Driver ticketed for $176.45 in September car/pedestrian collision

A driver has been ticketed under the Motor Vehicle Act after a pedestrian was seriously injured last month when he was stuck by a car.

Police say on September 10, just after 8:30 a.m., a 70-year-old man was crossing Lacewood Drive at Regency Park Drive while the walk signal was activated when he was hit by the 39-year-old driver making a left-hand turn.

The man was taken to hospital by EHS with series injuries.

Yesterday, the woman was ticketed for failing to yield the right of way to a pedestrian on green light, which carries a fine of $176.45.
