No charges to be laid in collision that killed cyclist

Regional Police say they will not lay charges against a delivery truck driver who struck and killed a cyclist earlier this year.

The collision happened the afternoon of May 21, when a 30-year-old woman was biking north on Windmill Road in Dartmouth when a delivery truck travelling north on Windmill made a right hand turn onto Albro Lake Road.

The woman hit the truck, fell from her bike and was crushed by its rear wheels.

Police say the driver did not violate the Motor Vehicle Act.

This is a corrected story. The original police news release identified the victim as a 21-year-old woman.
