Forcible confinement charges laid in Eastern Passage incident

Cole Harbor RCMP have charged a 25-year-old man with forcible confinement, after a 22-year-old woman was held against her will at a home in Eastern Passage.
Police say they received a call Tuesday evening that the woman had been confined, assaulted and her property extorted.
The man was arrested and released on “strict conditions,” according to an RCMP statement, and is due to appear in court in October.
Police say the suspect and victim know each other, and the investigation continues.
