Assault charges laid after north end incident

A 44-year-old man faces assault charges after an incident in Halifax’s north end.
Regional Police were called to an assault in progress near the corner of Dublin and Almon Streets around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday.
They say the assault occurred inside a vehicle, and the man and woman involved know each other.
Several witnesses intervened, and the woman managed to get out of the car.
The man drove off, but police later tracked him down near St. Paul’s Street.
He faces charges of assault, resisting arrest and assaulting police.
