Drive-by shooting in Cole Harbour investigated

DARTMOUTH – Cole Harbour RCMP are looking into a drive-by shooting after a gunshot was heard early Friday morning near Forest Hills Parkway.

According to a statement from Cst. Heidi Stevenson, RCMP responded to the call at 1:55 a.m. and found a house on Arklow Dr. that was riddled with buckshot pellets.

Cpl. Greg Church said few details are known about the incident at this time, but did confirm nobody was home.

“The house was vacant at the time of the shooting,” he said. “I can’t confirm if they were on vacation or if they were just out for the evening, but there definitely was nobody home at the time of the shooting.”

No one was hurt in the overnight incident, and the intention of the shooting is still unknown.

Police said they have been given the description of a vehicle that could have been involved in the case, but Church said that description is not yet verified.

He said the investigation is still ongoing.
