Shilo Marcino Beals, murder suspect, may have left NS

It’s been two weeks since Halifax police issued an arrest warrant in a decade-old cold case, but the murder suspect is still at large.

Shilo Marcino Beals is wanted for the killing in 2004 of Kevin James Bowser, outside a building on Uniacke Street.

Staff Sgt. Reid McCoombs describes Beals as a 31-year-old black man, 5’11”, 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

“He’s considered armed and dangerous, and members of the public are reminded that they shouldn’t approach him or try and take matters into their own hands,” said McCoombs.

Police say they’ve received information that Beals has left the province, but McCoombs says it’s not clear where he’s gone.

A Canada-wide arrest warrant means he can be arrested anywhere in the country.

“If he’s arrested anywhere in Canada, we will go and return him back here,” said McCoombs.

Beals is charged with first-degree murder in the Bowser killing, as well as multiple weapons charges.

McCoombs says anyone with information should contact Halifax Regional Police, or their local police department.
