Pride Parade expects to bring out tens of thousands

The Halifax Pride festival has been in full swing for over a week, and tomorrow’s parade is sure to be the cherry on top of some fabulous festivities.

Halifax Pride Chair Ramona Westgate told News 95.7 they’ve seen a lot of support throughout the festival, and she doesn’t see that momentum slowing down.

“We have well over 100 floats registered for our parade tomorrow,” said Westgate, who’s expecting as many as 100,000 people to attend.

“You have to come down for the parade,” she said. “It’s the one not-miss event.”

Westgate says the 11-day festival wraps up on Sunday with a pizza picnic on the Dartmouth Common, but before that, there’s a concert this evening, a community fair after tomorrow’s parade and a jam-packed schedule of other events throughout the weekend.
