HALIFAX – Halifax police are retracting a report of potential fraud targeting debit machines.
Police said earlier Tuesday there was suspicious activity involving two well-dressed men entering businesses saying they represented a debit machine company before asking questions about the store’s machines.
Investigators said the men went to several businesses claiming to be from different financial institutions.
Const. Holly Tooke said later that the company the men were representing is legitimate and it represents several financial institutions.
