Business report: McIlroy’s father wins 10-year bet & calls for shorter work week

Golfer Rory McIlroy took home 1.6 million (U.S.) for winning the British Open on Sunday, but his dad also cleaned up, 680News business editor Richard Southern explains.

McIlroy’s father won 100,000 pounds ($183,000 Cdn.) after betting 200 pounds ($367 Cdn.) in 2004 that his son would win the Open before his 26th birthday.

Also, Mexico billionaire Carlos Slim is calling for a three-day work week.
