Shilo Beals wanted for 2004 killing of Kevin Bowser

Halifax Regional Police have issued an arrest warrant in a decade-old murder case.

Staff Sgt. Lindsay Hernden said 31-year-old Shilo Marcino Beals of Cherry Brook, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Kevin James Bowser in July of 2004.

“This individual is described as a black male, he’s five-foot-ten, 161 pounds with black hair and brown eyes,” he said. “We have reason to believe Shilo Beals may still in the Halifax area at this time.”

Bowser, 28, was found with multiple gunshot wounds after a shooting on Unicake Street on the night of July 10, 2004.

Inspector Trish MacCormack of the Criminal Investigation Division says officers never stopped pursuing the case.

“It took a lot of persistence by the investigators to get to this point,” she said.

“Obviously there’s a lot involved in a homicide investigation, so that’s what led us to the charges today.”

Hernden said Beals is considered armed and dangerous, and anyone who sees him should contact their local police department.

“Members of the public should not approach him or try to take matters into their own hands in any way, shape or form.”
