Herd defenceman signs with Florida

Halifax Mooseheads announced this afternoon defenceman MacKenzie Weegar has signed an entry-level contract with the Florida Panthers.
Weegar ranked fourth among QMJHL defenseman in 2013-2014 with 59 points (12 goals 47 assists).
The Nepean, Ontario native was drafted by Florida in the seventh round (206th overall) in the 2013 NHL Draft and appeared in one preseason game with the Panthers, recording one assist.
The Mooseheads organization are congratulating Mackenzie Weegar and his family for his outstanding achievement.
