Cyclist killed by Transport Truck in Dartmouth

A woman is dead after a tractor-trailer and a cyclist collided at the intersection of Windmill and Albro lake Road Wednesday afternoon.
Constable Pierre Bourdages with Halifax Police says around 2:56pm they were notified of a serious collision at the intersection of Windmill and Albro Lake Roads in Dartmouth.
Constable Bourdages says a transport truck and a woman on her bicycle were both travelling north when the collision happened. He says the truck was turning right from Windmill to Albro Lake when the two collided.
He says the woman, believed to be in her 30’s was pronounced dead at the scene and the road will remain closed into the evening.
The Medical examiner’s office, forensic and Accident reconstructionist units were all called to the scene. The intersection of Windmill and Albro Lake is expected to be closed to traffic well past the evening rush hour.
No names have been released and there’s no indication that charges will be laid.
