Murder charge laid in killing of David Rose

A charge of second degree murder has been laid in the killing of David Rose, found dead in his South Street home Sunday night.

A man and woman were arrested in connection with the murder Tuesday night and last night they were charged.

Staff Sgt. Barb Saunders tells News 95.7 a 51-year-old man from Halifax faces a charge of second degree murder.

“A 29-year-old woman also faces charges of robbery and being accessory after the fact to murder,” she explains. “Both parties were held in custody overnight and will be appearing in provincial court this morning.”

Saunders adds she believes these were the only two suspects investigators were looking for, but couldn’t say for sure.

On Sunday night, officers responded to the 5200 block of South Street after Rose was found dead in his home.

An autopsy was conducted by the Nova Scotia Medical Examiner Service Monday and his death was ruled a homicide, but the cause of death has not been released.
