Nova Scotia teacher charged with sex crimes against children

A Nova Scotia middle school teacher is accused of sex crimes against kids.

The accused was, until last fall, a grade six teacher at Thorburn Consolidated School in Thorburn, a small town in Pictou County.

RCMP say they’ve been investigating a complaint from the school for the past 11 weeks.

Carolyn Amy Hood, 37, was arrested Friday at her home in Stellarton.

She’s charged with sexual assault, sexual interference and two counts each of sexual exploitation of a young person and luring minors over the internet for a sexual purpose.

Amy Hood has been released on conditions until a March 17 court date.

Police say they’re still investigating.

well somebodies ugly mother heard about this because, it certainly wasn’t the boys who went to police to complain!!
what i wonder is why it took so long for an investigation?
if it was a male he would have been charged and in jail the first week.
the justice system works in favour of females that’s for sure.

Yes so many women get house arrest for the same crime that men get 2 – 5 years for. BUT consider that young boys are usually not forced into sexual assault and they do not suffer psychologically from an action that they welcomed. Teenage boys want to have sex and they are not afraid of adult women so they do not suffer in the same manner young girls do who may be sexually assaulted against their will.

Actually Chief, it was one of the boys girlfriend saw some incriminating pictures on her boyfriends phone. The amazing thing about it is not only would a man be in jail, but she’s still being paid by the school district! Criminal charges have been filed and the District has multiple pictures from their investigation, and yet they are still paying her! It’s great to know our tax money is going to pedophiles.
