Mayor and Premier given iconic red mittens for 2014 Olympics

A brand new pair of Canada’s iconic Olympic red mittens have been presented to Nova Scotia’s Premier and Halifax’s Mayor.

Synchronized swimming Olympian Karine Thomas and 2016 olympic hopefuls Sandy Gill and Jacqueline Simoneau presented the mittens to Premier Stephen McNeil and Halifax Mayor Mike Savage.

Those red mittens are a source of pride for our athletes as well as a source of millions of dollars in direct athlete funding through the Canadian Olympic Foundation.

The Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics begins February 7th in Russia.
