One of the largest truck convoys will take over the streets of Dartmouth Saturday.
More than 100 trucks will drive around Eastern Passage, Cole Harbour Road, Portland Street and Cow Bay to raise money for Special Olympics Nova Scotia. Alex Colgan is the PR manager for the event, he says there’s a wide variety of trucks.
“There’s a truck decorated all over in M&M’s,” explained Colgan. “There are fire trucks, dump trucks, and just about 18-wheeler, big rig you can think of in this convoy.”
Colgan says the truck which raises the most money gets to lead the convoy. Last year was a first for the event in Nova Scotia, which raised almost $19,000 for Special Olympics.
“This year we hope to raise $30,000,” added Colgan.
The convoy leaves CFB Shearwater at 10:15 a.m. and wraps up around two o’clock. You can find the route by clicking here.
